Alright, everything is pretty much back to normal! In case you're wondering what has been going on for the past couple days, here's a rundown...
The server OS has been acting up for a couple months, but the problems have been getting dramatically worse over the past week. The server was spitting out errors, slowing to a crawl, or locking up solid on an almost daily basis. Driving home on lunch to reboot the server was getting expensive, so I decided to rebuild it.
I had to build a second server out of spare parts I had laying around. It's not a beauty, but it was fairly stable. I installed and configured this server and moved all of my critical network processes (Active Directory, DNS/WINS/DHCP, Exchange) to that box. This allowed me to gracefully decommission the real server to minimize interruptions.
I then moved all of the remaining important data (just the forum, really) to a safe disk and repartitioned/reformatted/reinstalled Server 2003 on the primary server. Once the server was running, I started moving processes back over from the secondary server. The only major process still running on the secondary server is Exchange, which I'll move back over this weekend.
Once I got the server back up last night, I went to bed at 1:30 in the freakin' morning. I completely overhauled the forum today by installing v2.2 of the forum and the 2.21, 2.22, and 2.23 updates. I've tweaked the CSS and template files to get the color looking right again.
If you find anything that isn't working or needs some tweaking, let me know!
