But that is exactly my problem with this article, Fatman. I don't care what you think is worse, no offense, it only matters what God says. The Bible clearly says that "sin is sin". I asked my brother the other day, "What's better? Premarital sex or gay sex?" The answer? Well let's see what God say:
1Co 6:9 "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,"
This passage of Scripture proclaims that neither is "better than the other". It's like saying how would you rather die right now? Being shot in the head or stabbed?" The answer...I DON'T WANT TO DIE. It's called a false dilemma (Did you stop beating your wife yet? OR Do your parents no that you're gay?)
Let's look at the definition of sin.
Easton's Bible Dictonary says " Is “any want of conformity unto or transgression of the law of God” (1Jo_3:4; Rom_4:15), in the inward state and habit of the soul, as well as in the outward conduct of the life, whether by omission or commission (Rom_6:12-17; 7:5-24). It is “not a mere violation of the law of our constitution, nor of the system of things, but an offense against a personal lawgiver and moral governor who vindicates his law with penalties."
So it is an action, thought, or omission of doing, thinking, or saying which goes against God and His Law. Therefore under the Law, and under God, homosexuality IS the same as child molesting. Now in our courts, in our beliefs as a society, and in this life I have no doubt we should punish/help child molesters more than anyone. However the day will come when we all die, 10 out of 10 people do, and:
Rom 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at naught thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Rom 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. Rom 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Rom 14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
So those of us who have stolen, murdered, killed, engaged in fornication, blasphamey, etc. have gone against God and His perfect Law. Under that Law we all deserve to be punished. However that's not the end of the story.
That's why God sent Jesus down from Heaven to live the perfect life and take away our sins. He rose from the grave and conquered death. All that is need to live in orcordance with God and His Law is to believe in Jesus Christ.
And I am thankful that my loving God is also a just God. I am also thankful that my just God is also a graceful God.
