I won't lie.  M Night Shamalamadingdong being in charge of a movie terrifies me.  On the other hand, Will Smith generally makes an entertaining (if not always outstanding) movie.

We will see!  Oblivion will be fun, Tom Cruz only plays one character in EVERY movie he is in, and this looks like the same guy.  Least we know he can pull it off!

And Patsy, If that is an accurate prediction I will stop reading all of your movie related posts.  lol

Yeah, Oblivion is a movie that's basically Scientology retold and I'll watch anything with Will Smith (even Hancock).

Well, there’s a reason many people were getting a GLaDOS/Portal vibe from the clip. That’s because it actually IS GLaDOS. The voiceover work is done by GLaDOS’s Ellen McLain. It’s not just her however, she’s had her voice run through nearly the exact same alteration process as in Portal, which is why the two sound identical.

I hope they don't go that route. They've only just kinda became somewhat friends in the last movie, so there's no way we would even feel the bond that was made with the real Kirk and Spock (threw that "real" in there for you Patrick)  I think that could be a little JJ Abrams twist to mess with the fans..

Which I would have been ok with an "Abrams Universe" if I got what I was promised!  Kirk and Spock friends in the Academy.  What I got was Spock crying and hating Kirk for cheating on a test and then only coming together at the end to let Kirk take over command of a ship that he had no right to command.  Pike drove the plot of the Enterprise more than Nero or any other plot point in that movie.  A failure all around and a let down of things promised.

If you watch the Japanese version Briney, Kirk has his hand on the glass first, and Spock puts his up.  So i don't think anyone is going to die....just a sweet old school reference I think.

Yeah, except that whole "Let's revive Star Trek in cinema" thing.  It's the highest grossing Star Trek film of all time, even accounting for inflation.
