It's on. Blizzard has started the closed beta for StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty in advance of the game's launch sometime around the middle of the year. Beyond testing StarCraft II gameplay, testers will get an early look at the revamped Battle.net service that will allow gamers to talk to one another across World of Warcraft realms and Blizzard's other titles. StarCraft II will bring a completely rethought single-player experience to go with the online multiplayer. Single-player missions are organized differently and the way items and units are unlocked makes solo play much more exciting. Unfortunately, there won't be support for LAN play.

I think I'm going to take a vacation day for this one!

In other news, I'm off to GDC in San Francisco for the weekend, I'll be sure to post cool pictures. I'm going to the Sid Meier presentation, and Patrick wants me to get him to sign my copy of SMAC. And of course, ask why The white team is so much more powerful than everyone else.

Meredith is playing like crazy, and near the end of the game. She is enjoying it.

I'm having a hard time getting into the game. I'm on chapter five and the battle system just isn't doing it for me. Life is pretty hectic right now, though, so I don't have the time to really get into the game. I'll give it a fair shot before too long, though!

Reply #344 - Mar 30^th, 2010, 11:49am Yeah the entire game is very slow paced. Had the game not had amazing graphics and a kick ass story I would probably have given up on it a long time ago. Honestly though, if you have ME2, I'd highly recomend ditching FF13 immediatley for it. ME2 is easily one of the best games I've ever played.
